"Alone I Cry"
by Chris Duffecy

I THOUGHT IT WAS MAGIC
TURNS OUT IT WAS A TRICK
WHAT I THOUGHT WAS LOVE
WAS JUST AN ILLUSION

A LOVE SO FANTASTIC
HOW COULD IT END SO QUICK
ONCE I WAS FILLED WITH HOPE
NOW I'M SO DISILLUSIONED

I'M SORRY IF I ONLY THOUGHT WE HAD
WHAT I THOUGHT WE HAD
NOW I WISH I COULD HAVE DONE MORE
BUT WITHOUT A SECOND CHANCE
ANOTHER TRY
ALONE I DANCE
ALONE I CRY

THERE'S PLACES WE'D GO
WHERE I'LL NEVER GO AGAIN
'CAUSE IT HURTS TOO MUCH
TO REMEMBER WHEN

MY CANDLE'S IN THE WINDOW
BUT YOU DON'T COME HOME
STILL MOURNING, COME MORNING
AND I'M SO ALL ALONE

I'M SORRY IF I ONLY THOUGHT WE HAD
WHAT I THOUGHT WE HAD
NOW I WISH IT COULD HAVE BEEN MORE
BUT WITHOUT A SECOND CHANCE
WITHOUT ANOTHER TRY
ALONE I DANCE
ALONE I CRY

WE'RE SEPARATED BY THE TIME
AND THE SPACE
AND THE MIND
I CAN'T THINK YOUR THOUGHTS
AND YOU CAN'T
READ MY MIND
AND WHAT SEEMS BEST FOR YOU
MEANS DEATH FOR ME

SO, I'M SORRY IF I ONLY THOUGHT WE HAD
WHAT I THOUGHT WE HAD
NOW I WISH WE COULD HAVE DONE MORE
BUT WITHOUT A SECOND CHANCE
ANOTHER TRY
ALONE I DANCE
ALONE I CRY
ALONE I CRY
ALONE I CRY
ALONE I DANCE

ALONE I’LL DIE . . .
